Bi-Centennial Event
Don’t miss out on the Bi-Centennial Anniversary of our community!
Join us on Saturday June 28th for this free event as we explore 200 years of history, stories, and adventure.
Live music performances by Renfrew Highland Pipes & Drums, The Dennis Harrington & Heritage Country Band, and the SALC Brass Ensemble & Band.
A BBQ lunch will be served, partake in the Strawberry Social, and participate in the photo opportunities, games & activities, and a special area for children.

Event Schedule (10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.)
- 10:00 Opening Ceremony: Preformed by the Renfrew Highland Pipes & Drums and Welcome Address
- 11:00 – 2:00 pm Free BBQ (refreshments available while supplies last)
- 11:00 – 12:30 Live Performance: Dennis Harrington & Heritage Country
- 2:00 – 3:30 pm Free Strawberry Social (refreshments available while supplies last)
- 2:00 – 4:00 pm SALC Brass Ensemble + Band perform on stage
- 4:00 pm Event wraps-up
All Day
- Council Chambers – ‘A walk in History’, enjoy a slide show representing 200 years of the Township of McNab/Braeside. Share the journey from where we began to where we are now. Learn, laugh, remember – it’s going to be a great show!
- Murray Yantha Community Centre Hall – Enjoy display’s or take a seat and relax in the air-conditioned hall. The bar will be open from 11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. (cash/debit/credit accepted).
- Outdoors – All musical performances will take place on the lawn. Dance to the music, challenge your friends to a lawn game, and play along in the children’s area
Good to know
- Seating will be available at tables and chairs indoors. Picnic tables will be provided outdoors. You are welcome to bring your own lawn chair to be guaranteed a seat.
- Animals must be on a leash – please remember to ‘scoop their poop’.
- Accessible washrooms are available in the hall and in the municipal office.
- Parking is available in the parking lot across the street with accessible parking at the Municipal Office.
