Waste Reduction Week
October 19-25, 2020
WHEREAS the generation of solid waste and the needless waste of water and energy resources are recognized as global environmental problems;
AND WHEREAS municipal governments have an important role to play in promoting waste reduction, reuse, recycling, composting and other conservation measures;
AND WHEREAS the Township of McNab/Braeside commits to waste reduction, resource conservation and community education for sustainable living;
AND WHEREAS the Township of McNab/Braeside recognizes that losing waste to disposal and as litter are local and global threats to the environment;
AND WHEREAS the Township of McNab/Braeside will take action to reduce our waste and support the circular economy;
THEREFORE, I, Mayor Tom Peckett, do hereby proclaim October 19-25, 2020 Waste Reduction Week in the Township of McNab/Braeside.
