Police & Peace Officers’ Memorial Day Proclamation:
WHEREAS Canadian police and peace officers make valuable contributions to the safety of Canadians and it is considered appropriate that there be, in each year, a day to mark and pay tribute to the hard work, dedication and sacrifices made by Canadian police and peace officers;
AND WHEREAS memorial services are held in communities across the country on the last Sunday of September of every year to commemorate those police and peace officers who were killed in the line of duty;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council of the Corporation of the Township of McNab/Braeside hereby proclaim the last Sunday in September of each year to be “Police and Peace Officers’ National Memorial Day” in the Township of McNab/Braeside.
