Plastic tubs & Lids - Symbols 2, 4 or 5 All plastic tubs and lids should be clean. Remove lids and place both loose inside the blue box. These are usually margarine, yogurt, sour cream and ice cream containers.
Plastic Bottles & Jugs - Symbols 1 to 7 Please rinse or drain and discard caps. These include bottles for beverages, cleaners, etc. Do not include motor oil, pesticide or herbicide containers.

Empty Paint Cans Make sure your paint can is empty. Up to 4 litres or 1 gallon size only will be picked up. It should have no liquid paint and no more than 1/4 inch of dried paint on the bottom. Place the empty can and lid loose in the blue box so that the driver can see that the can is empty. Leave the label on the can.
Aerosol Cans Make sure you have used up all the product. You can tell if it is empty by shaking the can. Place the empty can loose in the blue box. You can leave spray nozzles and paper labels on them. Do not include pesticide or herbicide containers.
Corrugated Cardboard and Brown Paper Bags Flatten and empty the cardboard boxes and brown paper bags. Tie in bundles of 24"x 24"x8" or smaller.
Box Board Box board such as cereal, cookie, tissue, detergent and shoe boxes should be flattened and bundled. Bundles should measure 24"x24"x8". Include paper egg cartons and rolls from paper towels and toilet paper.

Newspapers, Magazines & Junk Mail Place clean newspapers, flyers, magazines and catalogues in a brown paper bag or tie with string. Include all used envelopes, writing, typing and computer paper. (No hard cover books)

*** NEW - plain wrapping & tissue paper (not including Christmas paper or wrapping paper with a printed pattern on it) Greeting cards, paper cups & plates, polycoat paperboard and corrugated cardboard.
Aluminum Foil & Foil Containers Make sure all materials are clean. These are all rigid foil containers, fast food trays and aluminum foil wrap. No foil with paper or plastic lamination, no cardboard lids, no butter/candy/cigarette wrap, no peel off lids and no metalized chip bags.
Food & Beverage Only - Glass bottles & Jars Rinse the containers and remove caps and lids. You don't have to remove labels. Do not include other glass such as ceramics, mirrors, window glass, drinking glasses, light bulbs or dishes.
Food & Beverage Only - Metal cans Rinse the cans. You don't have to remove labels or flatten cans. Place metal lids from cans and jars in the bottom of a can and pinch the top of the can to trap the lid inside.
